Apple AirTag Universal Concealed Mount

A secure, discreet and serviceable way to mount an Apple AirTag almost anywhere.

The Hilltop Apple AirTag Universal Concealed Mount was originally developed for our own S14 while it was sat on the driveway at home.

With the car stripped of its interior and without the electronics required for a conventional tracker, we wanted a simple way of keeping track of the car if the worst happened. An AirTag provided an obvious solution — but with virtually no interior left, there wasn't anywhere sensible to securely hide one.

So we designed our own mount.

The result is a compact, mechanically fixed enclosure designed to allow an Apple AirTag to be securely concealed on a vehicle, trailer, toolbox, equipment or wherever else a suitable mounting location can be found.

Unlike adhesive holders or disposable mounting methods, the base is permanently fixed using the supplied rivets while the threaded lid remains removable, allowing the AirTag to be accessed for battery replacement or servicing without removing the mount itself.

The mount is universal, so the final installation location is entirely up to you.

Mounting & Fitment

The mount features two 5mm mounting holes on 62mm centres, designed around the supplied 4.8mm rivets.

The base can be riveted into position using the supplied hardware or installed using suitable bolts if preferred.

Once the base has been secured, the AirTag sits snugly inside the enclosure and the threaded lid screws into place over the supplied sealing O-ring.

The snug AirTag fit is intentional and helps reduce the chance of the AirTag dropping out when the enclosure is opened in an awkward or difficult-to-reach location.

Always choose a suitable mounting location with sufficient clearance to unscrew and remove the lid when future AirTag access is required.

Serviceable After Installation

Being able to access the AirTag without removing the mount was a major part of the original design.

Once the base has been riveted or bolted into position, it can remain installed.

When the AirTag battery needs replacing or the tracker needs to be removed, simply unscrew the lid, access the AirTag and reinstall the lid afterwards.

No drilling out rivets or removing the entire mount every time the AirTag needs attention.

Real-World Weather Testing

A Hilltop test unit was installed outdoors from May 2025 until February 2026, remaining exposed for approximately nine months through a variety of UK seasonal weather conditions.

When inspected after the test period, the AirTag remained clean, dry and free from visible water or dust ingress.

The enclosure uses a supplied O-ring to help seal the joint between the base and threaded lid.

This product has not been laboratory tested or independently IP rated, so it should not be considered certified waterproof or dustproof. The weather-testing information above reflects our own real-world testing only.

Manufacturing Lead Time

This product is batch produced in-house by Hilltop Speed Shop, with stock kept ready where available.

Typical manufacturing lead time is approximately 2–3 working days, depending on current stock levels, selected colour and order quantity.

Custom colours may require additional manufacturing time.

Manufacturing

Each enclosure is manufactured in-house using 3D printing.

Minor layer lines or small cosmetic variations may be visible. These are a normal result of the manufacturing process and do not affect the intended function of the product.

Postage & Dispatch

All orders are securely packaged and sent using a tracked postage service.

Depending on the quantity ordered and other products within the same order, AirTag Mounts may be supplied in a protective box or suitable padded packaging.

Once your order has completed the stated manufacturing lead time, it will be packed and dispatched as soon as possible.
